Template-driven motion graphics

Client provides

A request such as:

"Create a 15–20 second video using the attached information."

The video outline is typically provided in PowerPoint format, where each slide represents a scene or segment. The deck includes all required copy, images, and key messaging to be displayed on screen.

My process

As we work within an established brand system, these videos follow the visual standards and layouts defined by the bank's digital communication templates.

Given the time-sensitive nature of these requests, a template-based workflow is the most efficient approach. I maintain a library of pre-built Adobe After Effects templates in various layout formats.

To create each video, I select the most suitable template and replace the placeholder content with the provided text and imagery. I then fine-tune animation timing, transitions, pacing, and visual details to ensure the content is clear, engaging, and aligned with brand guidelines.

Final delivery

  • 1920 × 1080 MP4 video files optimized for digital screen display.

  • Content publishing and scheduling through Appspace.

  • Distribution across a network of internal TV screens located throughout Asia Pacific offices.

Campaign-driven creative animations

Client provides

A request such as:

"Create a short animated ad for this year's International Women's Day campaign. This will be used as a teaser, with additional event promotions to follow. We would like it to feel fresh and different from last year's campaign. Attached are this year's logo and campaign flyers for reference."

The client typically provides campaign assets, brand guidelines, key messages, and any existing visual materials that should be incorporated into the animation.

My process

For this type of project, I lead the creative direction of the animation.

I begin by developing a rough storyboard to establish the narrative flow and visual approach. Depending on the project, this storyboard may be shared with stakeholders for early alignment and feedback.

Next, I create and prepare the visual assets required for animation, including illustrations, icons, typography treatments, and graphic elements. These assets are organized into separate layers and groups according to the planned animation sequences.

Once the assets are ready, I move into scene composition, building the visual structure of each sequence and establishing key animations and transitions. I then refine the motion design through multiple passes, adjusting timing, pacing, and visual details until a polished first draft is ready for review.

Following stakeholder feedback, the project goes through several rounds of revisions before final approval and delivery.

For short-form animations, I typically present the first draft as a complete video. For longer-form projects, I first review the storyboard with stakeholders and then present either segmented drafts or a full-length draft, depending on the complexity and style of the animation.

Video editing

This work involves editing promotional videos for conferences, corporate events, and internal communications. Typical tasks include trimming and assembling footage, selecting and arranging key content, adding titles and captions, and ensuring the final edit is clear, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.

For recorded video content, I create on-screen graphics, lower thirds, and subtitles to enhance clarity and accessibility while maintaining a professional visual presentation.

Animated presentations

This work involves enhancing leadership town hall presentations and executive communication decks through animation and interactive elements.

Using PowerPoint and motion design principles, I create animated transitions, visual reveals, and interactive components that help presenters communicate key messages more effectively, improve audience engagement, and elevate the overall presentation experience.
